CLASS DESCRIPTION

Join Neva Brown for a 4 week course to learn “From Basics to Elegance - Creating with Seed Beads”

Neva is an award winning and published Beading Artist, who will guide you to a better understanding of some basic beading techniques you may already know, enabling you to go “From Basics to Elegance in Designing with Beads”, to create unique pieces of jewellery for yourself, or your friends.

In this 4 week course, you will learn four basic stitches to create pieces that you can wear on their own, or combine to create a standout piece of jewellery. Throughout this time you will also be shown quick techniques and shortcuts in bead weaving. How to mix and match components, and how to create the perfect colour and texture combinations.

SKILL PREREQUISITE

A basic understanding of sewing, using needle and thread.

Tuition
General discussions on bead weaving techniques, with examples shown
Soft Copy Instructions for in-class use for beading projects

WHAT TO BRING AND MATERIAL FEE

Cost of kit for first class is $20.00
Cost for kits in subsequent classes will be advised at the end of previous session (between $18.00 - $30.00)

Please bring a basic beading toolkit with you to each session. Your toolkit should include: Beading mat
Beading needles size 12, long and short
Fireline 4lb or 6lb Smoke
Scissors
Lighter
Flat nosed pliers x 2
Looping pliers
Lamp (optional)

GENERAL INFORMATION

OH&S protocols at SJS require all students to wear closed in shoes and for long hair to be tied back. We recommend that glasses are worn instead of contact lenses and minimal jewellery is worn in a studio environment.
