CLASS DESCRIPTION

Join us for a 2 day action packed workshop on Resin Jewellery.

Starting from the beginning we will sculpt our master forms and make silicon moulds from the master.

These moulds will be used to cast resin. We will be working with polyurethane resin and slow curing epoxy resins.

Colour mixing, embedding, hand embellishments, carving, adjusting, reshaping, filing, sanding and polishing and that's just a couple of the things we will cover in the workshop.

At the end of the 2 days you will have a extensive understanding of working with resins SAFELY in your home.

Another important component of this workshop is creating the jewellery, drilling holes. We will also be making our won ear hooks for earrings to create a unique creation.

Not only will you leave with a couple of silicon moulds to continue the journey at home but you have a new collection of jewellery to also wear.

No experience is necessary, open to all.

WHAT TO BRING AND MATERIAL FEE

Your MATERIALS FEE is included in the class cost.

* Please wear old clothes, resin is impossible to get out of fabric.

* Notebook, pen

* Apron or old shirt

GENERAL INFORMATION

OH&S protocols at SJS require all students to wear CLOSED IN shoes, long hair should be tied back.  We recommend wearing glasses instead of contact lenses and wearing minimal jewellery when working in a studio environment.
