CLASS DESCRIPTION

This 3hour beginner's class and learn all the skills you need to make your own personalised hand stamped pendants.

Explore creating different textures and affirmations using metal design stamps. Towards the end of the class we will go through professional finishing techniques such as drilling, polishing and jewellery assembly. 

This class is ideal for learning how to make personal and unique pieces that are sentimental and inexpensive. 

Finish the class with at least two of your very own unique personalised pendants on a chain as well as all the knowledge to move forth with this technique. 

SKILL PREREQUISITE

No previous experience required.

ESSENTIAL TECHNIQUES COVERED

Preparing pre shaped metal blanks.

Texturing metals using hammer techniques.

Stamping using letters, numbers and design stamps.

Metal drilling.

Hand polishing.

Attaching jump rings and chains.

GENERAL INFORMATION

* OH&S protocols at SJS require all students to wear CLOSED IN shoes, long hair should be tied back. We recommend wearing glasses, not contact lenses during classes and the wearing of minimal jewellery when working in a studio enviornment.
