Daniel Cap runs his own jewellery manufacturing company by the name of Object Maker Pty Ltd specialising in Mokume Gane.

Originally from Adelaide, Daniel did an informal apprenticeship under Bell and Brunt jewellers after completing a Bachelor in visual arts and applied design.

He has been working in the jewellery trade for just over 10 years, predominately in design and hand making of platinum or gold diamond rings. The days he predominately creates Mokume Gane Jewellery .

Mokume gane is a method of fabrication that begins with fusing layers of gold with different colours together. It's then the tricks of the trade to get that metal laminate to look like wood grain, and keep it all together while making into a ring! A technique that was very difficult to get your hands on information when Daniel first started out he is very eager to share his knowledge and love of Mokume Gane with us.
