Its Hammer Time, it's time to make some noise and stretch some metal.

Join Wendy in this 2 day workshop forging metal to create unique jewellery.

This forging workshop will give you invaluable skills in turning metal into 3 dimensional forms and create wearable jewellery.

Learn what hammers to use to give the best results and get the most out of your metal.

Experiment by making lots of samples using various forging techniques.

SKILL PREREQUISITE

Familiarity with Metalwork tools and using a torch to anneal.

What is Forging?

Various Hammers available and their uses

Best surfaces to work on.

Correct technique for using Hammer without causing pain or strain.

 

WHAT'S INCLUDED?

* All metal used in class. Students will be working with copper to make their prototypes.

* Loan of tools to use in class.

GENERAL INFORMATION

We request that you wear closed shoes, have long hair tied back and wear minimal jewellery in classes for WH&S reasons.

Please bring earplugs or acoustic isolating earmuffs.

SAFETY GLASSES are provided.
