HELGA NILSEN

Helga is a colourist, designer and educator with over 20 years experience in her colour consulting and interiors business. Clients have included residential and commercial briefs as well as specifiying for apartment development projects.

In her earlier career as an art teacher, Helga wrote two art books which are in current use in many schools throughout Australia.

Helga has developed and delivered courses, seminars and her own workshops in colour, interiors and art to leading Sydney vocational training institutions, design centres and industry associations. She has also gained valuable experience organising and co-ordinating many art and design exhibitions.

Helga has a degree in Fine Arts and Archaeology, a Graduate Diploma in Education, Interior Decorating qualifications and TAE Cert IV. She has also studied photography, colour and design, ceramics and sculpture.

Travelling extensively, Helga is fascinated by the beauty and diversity of colour in the world's landscapes and its use in other cultures.

Helga particularly enjoys the creative interaction of working with students to share her experience and to develop a rapport that assists them to achieve their goals in a stimulating practical and creative learning environment.
