My obsession with crafting and designing began at an early age. Learning to crochet, knit and sew from my Mother and Aunts set me off on a lifelong voyage of creating from anything found to hand. From the intricate doily to a myriad of poodle soap covers made for school fetes our house was always a place of creative chaos -why soap needed a cover seemed to make sense at the time…

Never liking to sit idle I like nothing better than learning a new craft and have dabbled in more than I can count over the years developing a particular love of wire weaving, beading, crochet, drawing and recycled art. I create jewellery, knitwear, recycled fabric sculpture and texture pieces and the occasional charcoal portrait on commission.

With a degree in environmental design I soon found that I loved sharing my passion for arts and crafts and began teaching sculpture about 10 years ago. I also began working with wire around the same time and have more recently moved into creating intricate wire woven jewellery. I like to begin with a beautiful focal stone or bead and let that guide wire. I am always impressed by the amazing creativity of the students and the fact that a design will never look the same twice. I love to give my students design choices to make along the way so that each piece is unique.

In my spare time I tutor K-10 maths and am studying a Masters of Education so I can return to the primary school classroom.
